The U.S. recorded its millionth case of coronavirus on Tuesday, yet the Trump administration is trying to claim that as a victory. Speaking to Fox & Friends that same day, the president’s son-in-law and waxen face of the White House’s disastrous coronavirus response Jared Kushner claimed the current numbers are actually a “great story.” Said numbers include 60,000 recorded deaths in the U.S. from the virus.

“Yes, it’s a great story,” agreed Stephen Colbert in his monologue on Tuesday evening, mirroring Kushner’s wooden-puppet-boy inflection. 

“More people dying under this administration in 100 days than died in 20 years of the Vietnam War — that’s a story that needs to be told. Perhaps in the blockbuster movie Preventable Apocalypse Now.” Read more…

With one million coronavirus cases now recorded in the U.S., we’ll never know for sure how different things could have been if President Donald Trump had taken the pandemic seriously earlier. But hey, if he was slow to protect American lives, at least he’s stepping up now to protect American pork.

Trump has handled widespread criticism of his coronavirus response with all the patience and grace of a cranky toddler. Having ignored the many, many warnings about the looming pandemic in daily briefings, the U.S. president has since repeatedly refused to take responsibility for his inaction or reckless public statements.  Read more…

A sexy pair of legs in thigh-high leather boots has gone viral on Twitter, though not only because they are incredibly sexy. Users are exploiting the way Twitter displays uploaded images to match the enviable pins with unlikely pop culture icons, creating a confusingly attractive meme.

The glorious gams belong to Lisa from K-pop group Blackpink, who wore the black boots and booty shorts in a solo dance performance to QUIN and 6LACK’s “Mushroom Black.” Twitter’s K-pop fans began adorning their favorite singers with Lisa’s statuesque limbs shortly after the video’s April 20 premiere.

Fans who sent Krasinski their favorite family feeds were treated to a video chat not only with the SGN host but with a celebrity, chef, or celebrity chef who’d cooked their recipe themselvesCocktail king of the isolation internet (and the host’s brother-in-law) Stanley Tucci had a go at a one nanna’s TikTok Quarantini, which sounds like a boozy Orange Julius. Martha Stewart praised a four-generation-strong pierogi recipe as close to her own grandmother’s. Momofuku honcho Dave Chang gave a very stoked fan from Krasinski’s hometown props for her wine quantities.
